Teacher appreciation week at C’s school. She was supposed to relate something that she appreciated about each of her teachers, which we wrote on a card to be compiled into a book for each teacher. Ms. J is her usual teacher, who has been out for a few weeks with a broken leg. Ms. C is her replacement.
Us: "C, what do you appreciate about Ms. J?"
C: "Well, when I am doing work with the binomial cubes [this is a Montessori school, also, she pronounced it dinomial], she gets the big binomial cube down for me."
Us: "And what do you appreciate about Ms. C?"
C: "She does things different from Ms. J."
Us: "But name a specific thing."
C: "Well, I don’t really like the big binomial cube, so she doesn’t get it down for me."
Hopefully Ms. J won’t read Ms. C’s book of appreciation.
